He’s come into contact with every segment of America, learning some key traits of each group. Has spoken, debated and argued with hundreds of people over the past 25 years regarding intergroup and gender relations. Being an African-American with Jewish and European ancestry made understanding the continuous color-group problems a priority early on. He experienced what many would characterize as racism; resulting in verbal and or physical conflicts He’s studied hundreds of works regarding racism, White Supremacy, Slavery, ancient and contemporary group power struggles with corresponding politics. His efforts to write are motivated by wishing to contribute something positive towards bettering intergroup relations.
She continued to work in the field of diagnostic imaging in the United States and noted how at first America seemed to be a place where freedom existed for everyone; however, as she acclimated herself to life initially on the eastern seaboard, then Illinois and ultimately California, she saw a clear distinction between life for Euro-Americans and others. Her own oppressions from the past compelled her to seek understanding and the parallels became clear. Minorities in America, although better off in many ways then women in more overt male dominate societies, were subjugated or relegated in common ways. When she first read David’s manuscript in 2004, so many things resonated within her that she was motivated to undertake the rewriting of it in order to help streamline and clarify key points. She is driven to see intergroup relations be ameliorated, particularly between male and females the world over. There is a great deal of unnecessary suffering women go through simply because testosterone rules by might versus right.
